At times the deserved popularity of Rajasthan\u2019s key sights leave little room for a sense of adventure. Traveling by cycle is the perfect remedy. As well as some of the big draw cards like Jodhpur, Rankapur and Udaipur, our back-road discovery takes us to remote villages through barren desert and lush oasis where traditional Rajasthani life continues unscathed by the outside world, as it has done for centuries.<br \/>We start our journey climbing up to the Aravali Hills, the route then passes through back-country flatlands to the holy town of Pushkar and then on to Jaipur, a town overlooked by the splendid Amber Palace. We take rest stops along the way at the principal attractions as well as at a few places where there is a chance to experience rural Rajasthan firsthand. The rest of the day is taken up in familiarizing ourselves with our bikes and taking an orientation ride around Udaipur. Udaipur, is the city of lake &amp; temples, palaces &amp; gardens, encompassing some of the finest examples of Rajput architecture anywhere in India<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 3 : Udaipur Cycling<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>This morning we head out on our bikes to explore the city, visiting the Jagdish Temple and the City Palace, whose opulence and grandeur provide a fascinating insight into what is believed, by some, to be the oldest dynasty on earth. If time allows, we may also have a chance to visit the gardens of Gulab Bag, or take a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola. Ride 25 Kms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 4 : Ride to Kumbhalgarh<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-4.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>We start our peddling from Udaipur city via Morwaniya village passing through Madaarand reaching the Kavita village junction. The route stays away from the main road and follow back roads with some uphill rides towards the end and allows us to enjoy the fascinating rural life of India. Late afternoon we visit The Kumbhalgarh Reputed to be the second largest continuous wall after The Great Wall of China. Ride 80 Kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 5 : Ride to Ghanerao Via Ranakpur<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-1.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>After breakfast, we leave for Ghanerao. The first part of our ride will be downhill on a good deal of metal road but through rewarding scenic mountain terrain. On the way, we will see some great rural life which is fascinating because of its authenticity. We reach Ranakpur and visit the famous Jain Temples which are magnificently carved in delicate white marble. After Lunch at Ranakpur we continue our ride through an undulating terrain in the foothills of Kumbalgarh Mountains towards Muchala Mahavir Temple. We pass Bagho-Ka\u2013Bagh, an old hunting Lodge of the erstwhile nobles of this area and proceed via Bhop Ji Ka Guda, a village<br \/>agricultural fields to Seli Dam, a large reservoir with a few crocodiles. We reach Ghanerao village at the end of our eventful day of cycling. This is one of the oldest settlements of this area, a village a great heritage. Ride 75 Kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 6 : Ride Via Mithdi Dam to Korta<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-2.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>After breakfast, we start our ride from Ghanerao towards Mithdi dam on the foothills of the Aravalis, we will be using the village road and not the main highway. Mithdi dam is a picturesque and gives ample insight into the rural surroundings nearby. From here we head to our destination for the night Korta, on the way we pass many cyclists \u2013 local villagers using bikes to commute for everyday activities. Ride 90 Kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 7 : Ride To Benswara<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>Today we leave for Benswara. It is a small hamlet, in unexplored rural Rajasthan. Our destination for the night will be an ancestral rural Manor run by village\u2019s erstwhile chief and his family. In the evening there would be opportunity to visit the Shepherd community of the Rebaris and if luck favours a chance to sight panthers. Ride 60kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 8 : To Rohet<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-4.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-4.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>We ride our bikes to Rohet which is also home to erstwhile noble family and also some best heritage hotels in Rajasthan. A peek unto the local village ceremonies with Rose water can be had after a log days biking. Ride 75 Kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 9 : To Jodhpur<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-1.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>Today we head to one of the most photographed forts in Rajasthan situated in the City of Jodhour there may be sightings of lack buck, spotted dear and antelopes. We arrive Jodhpur by afternoon and head to our Heritage hotel. Ride 55kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 10 : To Puskar\/ Drive \/Ride<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-2.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>We depart by vehicle but after more 90 mins- 2hrs, when we are out of the main city of Jodhpur we can remount to ride our bikes through small villages, enjoying the desert scenery to the sacred town of Pushkar, Here we check into our hotel. Ride 60 kms. Drive 120kms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box \">\n<h5>Day 11 : To Jaipur via Rupangarh<\/h5>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-lt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-201\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210304122500im_\/https:\/\/www.gojourneys.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Rajasthan-Cycling-3.jpg\" alt=\"page-banner01\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"contanier-text-box-rt\">\n<p>We continue our ride, travelling through rural villages and desert backroads to the town of Rupnagar, a marble centre in the district of Sawai Madhopur. From here we are transferred by vehicles to Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan region. Last day of cycling.
